A critical piece of legislation denied by Lamar Alexander is the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Act, which would support and enhance cooperation in paralysis research, rehabilitation, and quality of life programs for people with paralysis. The House version of this legislation passed with bipartisan support, but thanks to votes like Lamar Alexander's, it failed in the Senate.

Alexander voted against research to help improve the lives of nearly 250,000 Americans affected by spinal cord injuries. If elected to the U.S. Senate, Bob Tuke will take action to help set Washington straight and cut through the bureaucracy that prevents critical legislation from going to work for the American people.
