Dick Zimmer on Free Trade

Republican Senate challenger

Leaned toward voting for NAFTA despite listing against

This NAFTA debate isn't about Al Gore and Ross Perot, said Mr. Bonior, the majority whip. "If NAFTA passes, Al Gore and Ross Perot won't lose their jobs." But vote counts mean little at this stage of the game, and both sides continue to predict victory. Dick Zimmer, who was listed in The Times as being against the measure, said that was a mistake and he was actually leaning toward voting for it.
