Xochitl Torres Small on Education

Invest in public schools, act on southern New Mexico needs

In southern New Mexico, we have some unique challenges in providing public education to our rural and diverse communities. I'll fight for increased funding for our public schools so that all students have access to the tools and technology they need. I'll work to increase funding for English language learning programs. I'll advocate for better pay for teachers, and I'll push to reduce class sizes. Finally, I'll invest in early childhood education and work toward universal access to Pre-K.

CC:No vouchers for private schools.

Torres Small opposes the CC survey question on education vouchers

The Christian Coalition Voter Guide inferred whether candidates agree or disagree with the statement, 'Education Vouchers that Allow Parents to Choose a Public or Private School for their Children' Christian Coalition's self-description: "Christian Voter Guide is a clearing-house for traditional, pro-family voter guides. We do not create voter guides, nor do we interview or endorse candidates."
