Increased funding and set up working group against meth use

I established a meth working group to make recommendations so that the Legislature can authorize the appropriate action and funding to strike a decisive blow against the traffickers of meth, while helping those hooked on meth to break free. I have placed in this budget 10 new public safety officers to fight the rise of meth use and distribution where the problems appear to be most acute. I have also included $2 million for meth education and treatment for a grand total of $17 million. Source: State of the State Address Jan 22, 2007

Voted YES on prohibiting needle exchange & medical marijuana in DC.

Vote to pass a bill that provides $429.1 million in funds for the District of Columbia and approves the District's $6.8 billion budget. Among other provisions, the bill prohibits the use of federal funds for needle exchange programs, prohibits implementing an approved ballot initiative to legalize the medicinal use of marijuana. Voted YES on subjecting federal employees to random drug tests.
