On Gay Marriage: The National Review gives Gilmore, an "F" on the issue of gay marriage. By way of comparison to other then governors, Schwarzenegger of California had a "D." Rell of Connecticut had a "C."

Grades were based upon, " whether they sign or veto legislation regarding homosexuality. They also receive grades based on their public opinions expressed on homosexual issues."

Comprehensive state job searches should ignore demographics
Q: Should race, ethnicity or gender be taken into account in state agencies' decisions on state emplyment?
A: I believe applicant searches must be comprehensive , then the best person should be hired for the job without regard to demographics.

Only governor to sign civil unions without a court order
Protecting civil rights - for all. Governor Rell signed into law landmark civil unions legislation, declaring Connecticut will not tolerate discrimination in any form. The Governor received the Log Cabin Republican's "Spirit of Lincoln Award" - the
group's highest honor - in recognition of "her steadfast support of the gay and lesbian citizens of Connecticut and for being the only U.S. governor to sign civil unions legislation without a court order."
