Supports net neutrality as part of telecommunications reform

Q: There is a growing push for Congress to codify the issue of "net neutrality" which guarantees that broadband networks cannot use their networks to give preferential fast lane access to any content provider. Where do you stand on this issue?

A: Mitch McConnell appears to be one of the reasons that bills with net neutrality language have stalled in congress. I would support the inclusion of net neutrality language as part of needed consumer-friendly telecommunications reform

Make substantial investments in new research and development

If America is going to compete in the global economic marketplace, we must be a leader in innovation. To do so, I believe we must make substantial investments in new research and development, focusing on the development of alternative energy technologies that will provide high-paying jobs and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Invest in basic infrastructure, plus broadband

In order to grow, every part of Kentucky must be connected to urban centers and the global economy. That means investing in basic infrastructure, from roads and highways to broadband Internet to airports and river ports. Remote parts of the state need good roads and highways to be accessible. Broadband connects every small business and every community to the power of the Internet. Quality infrastructure is the lifeline of commerce and necessary for Kentucky to succeed in the 21st century.
