Phillips supports the following principles regarding education:
Eliminate federal student financial aid for individuals convicted of drug offenses.
Religious expression on
public school property should be allowed.
Phillips says, “All federal funding of education is unconstitutional.”

Close down Dept of Education, Feds should play no role
God tells us that the nurture & admonition of children is the responsibility of parents. There is no Federal role in education. This is found in the 1st Amendment. Yet, Congress approves more than $70 billion each year for education. Every schoolhouse
is an establishment of religion. You cannot have a school where children are not taught about the nature of God, and of man. By saying “yes” to liberty of conscience, we must say no to Federally subsidized & regulated establishments of religion.

Separate education from state, or it’s establishing religion
[Those who] advocate. separating church from state are hypocrites unless they similarly insist upon the separation of education from state, because every government-subsidized and regulated school has become an establishment of the officially approved
state religion, censoring prayer, subsidizing sex, denying creation, rewriting history, undermining parental authority, denigrating Biblical values, and dumbing down the children so that they may be no wiser than those who run our government.

Education debate today is about sex & crime
Today, the education debate is even further removed from the controversies of the sixties, seventies and eighties, when issues such as forced busing, quotas, and prayer in the schools were hotly argued. Today the focus is on rape
and murder in the schools, America 2000, Outcome-Based-Education, and the distribution of condoms, even to students in the fifth grade.
Schools sponsor the official state religion of humanism
Anti-Christian humanists who advocate separating church from state are total hypocrites unless they similarly insist upon the separation of education from state, because every government-subsidized school has become an establishment of the officially
approved state religion, censoring prayer, subsidizing sex, denying creation, rewriting history, undermining parental authority, denigrating Biblical values, and dumbing down the children so that they may be no wiser than those who run our government.
Instead of arguing about how much more money should be assigned to the Federal role in education - on which more than $75 billion per year are now misdirected, we can and should eliminate completely the Federal role - every penny of which is expended in
violation of our First Amendment rights to “liberty of conscience”. Most grass-roots Republicans favor parental control of education, but the Republican Party in Congress has voted even more spending on education than Clinton himself requested.
